ISO Certification for Vicinity Cards

ISO Certifications are not easy to achieve because a company who vies for certain recognition should undergo several procedures before achieving the title. These certifications play a vital role in companies for a lot of consumers, especially the huge end users of certain products judge the reliability of their potential suppliers through these certifications. ISO 15693 is the certification for vicinity cards and RFIDs. Vicinity cards operate at distances up to 1-1.5 meters, farther than proximity cards can function. These cards are usually used in telecommunications, public transports and identification purposes where there is restricted access. Stated in this ISO certification are the requirements needed to be satisfied in making vicinity cards, specifically the standards in the physical characteristics, signal interface and the transmission protocol. Contactless smart cards are an example of vicinity cards. These are usually employed in public transports or financial transactions and used by people like the old and disabled who are having difficulty using contact cards. For disabled people, character display must be larger than normal to minimize difficulties caused by their disabilities.
