Heath Ledger found dead in an Apartment in Manhattan
Everyone was surprised when the news broke about the death of Brokeback Mountain Star, Heath Ledger.
His body was found unresponsive in an apartment in Lower Manhattan in January 22 , Tuesday, around 3 pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene around 3:30 pm by emergency personnel.
According to NY Police Department, there were no indications of foul play and the angle of accidental drug overdose or could be suicide (although no suicide note was found) could be the cause of his death. Pills were found in the vicinity of his bed, and his body naked, face down and unresponsive on the floor.
There were also prescriptions of his medications found in his place. It can be recalled that Ledger claimed to have difficulty sleeping in an article in New York Times late last year.
In January 23, New York City Medical Examiner Ellen Borakove claims that the autopsy conducted failed to determine the cause and manner of Ledger’s death. With this, additional tests should be done because the results were inconclusive and apparent results will hopefully be discovered in 10 days to two weeks.
The possibility of pneumonia as the cause of death was also ruled out as stated by a prominent pathologist, Michael Baden. According to him, if this is the cause of Ledger’s death, autopsy conducted last January 23rd would have already come to a conclusion.
Heath Ledger had just finished playing the role of the villain, The Joker in “The Dark Knight at the time of his death.
